About Buenos Aires Delivery
We like to eat. This, in a nutshell, is the reason behind Buenos Aires Delivery. When founder Withers Davis, a gringo from the US, found himself unable to communicate with the local restaurants who could provide him with life-giving food, he knew something had to be done.
Ordering food in Castellano over the phone is hard. We know… we’ve been there. The person on the other end might speak really quickly, with a weird accent, in a low voice, or with a steel drum band playing in the background, and as you vainly attempt to get your order across with only the most basic Spanish, you can feel your delicious and satisfying meal plans slipping away. It’s a painful moment.
That is why we are here to help. Experiencing a city’s cuisine is one of the most important and exciting things to do while traveling to a new place, and there is no reason that your taste buds should suffer because of a little thing like a language barrier. We created the Buenos Aires Delivery site as a way to help foreigners living or traveling in Buenos Aires take advantage of the culinary delights this city has to offer, even if you don’t speak a word of Spanish.
Before, communication between (affectionately labeled) gringos and local restaurants was something of a fiasco. Buenos Aires Delivery has changed that, eliminating the issue of the language barrier by providing dual-language menus and acting as the intermediary between restaurants and hungry clients.
Who Are We?
We are a group of expats living in Buenos Aires who joined together to conquer a common problem in our community. While we originally wanted to help fellow gringos who couldn’t speak Spanish, Buenos Aires Delivery can benefit any number of people living in this fair city. Students from around the world, backpackers passing through, luxury travelers, busy businessmen, and short term vacationers will all find our site incredibly useful and convenient.
Even local porteños or permanent expats can take advantage of our site! At work and don’t want to disturb the silence by calling in your Grande Pizza de Fugazetta and side of Papas Fritas? Just head on over to our site and submit your lunch order online…the boss’ll never know! Having a big party and can’t hear yourself think over the bumping music?
